About Us

Printing and photography has always been in my blood, from the learning of my alphabet on the early letterpress type at the age of 2, using the Heidelberg Platen as a climbing toy, developing black and white photos in our darkroom to an adult where we learned all the aspects of the trade from working in my family’s newspaper and printing business. 

I was taught a strong work ethic by my parents from a very young age.

Even as a young child, my siblings and I regularly had to step in and help out with jobs, whether it was collating invoice books, gold dusting wedding invitations, sticking goose club tickets together, doing paper runs or processing end of month accounts and tax commitments while still at high school.

After moving to the Gold Coast / Brisbane area in the early 1990s I moved more into the digital graphic side of things. I have worked for numerous companies where I concentrated more on prepress and the design of graphics/jobs especially large 4 colour magazines and brochures, always using the latest desktop publishing programs.

About 16 years ago I started learning the die cut vinyl sticker side of things and in early 2015, Bert and I started our own sticker business, Sticker Vision.

In late 2017 we changed its name to Painted Bark Studios and expanded more into digital graphic products and more recently the ever popular PhotoCards and some jewellery.

In December 2023, we were very honoured to have been featured in the quarterly Regional Lifestyle Magazine after the owners saw our cards on sale at the Inverell Sapphire City Markets. The three page article highlighted our background and showcased a double page spread of some of our photos. (see below).
