We love Colour!
Growing up in Byron Bay, both Bert and I loved the incredible mix of people, colours, and cultures that gave our town its heartbeat.
Back then, Byron was a small, lively place where freedom and community spirit were a part of everyday life.
A big part of my childhood was working in my family’s newspaper and printing business.
From a young age, my parents taught us the importance of hard work, loyalty, and showing up when it counted.
My siblings and I were always helping out — collating invoice books, gold dusting wedding invitations, sticking goose club tickets together, running papers around town, or helping balance the end-of-month accounts.
We learned early that being part of something bigger than ourselves was just what you did — and it’s a lesson that’s stayed with me ever since.

Printing and photography has always been in my blood, from the learning of my alphabet on the early letterpress type at the age of 2, using the Heidelberg Platen as a climbing toy, developing black and white photos in our darkroom to an adult where we learned all the aspects of the trade.
After moving to the Gold Coast / Brisbane area in the early 1990s I have worked for numerous companies where I concentrated more on the digital design of graphics/jobs especially large 4 colour magazines and brochures, always using the latest desktop publishing programs.
About 16 years ago I started learning the die cut vinyl sticker side of things and in early 2015, Bert and I started our own sticker business, Sticker Vision.
In late 2017 we changed its name to Painted Bark Studios and expanded more into graphic and digital products and more recently PhotoCards and some jewellery.

Painted Bark Studios’ motto is, one of my Dad’s sayings,
“If you can’t do something right, don’t do it at all.”
I have always stuck by this saying and have carried it over to our business practices.

Painted Bark Studios is located in the beautiful Northern Tablelands of NSW just out of Inverell after we decided to go for a tree change 6 years ago.
